Nsansa Montessori School We are a small school offering Montessori education to children from the age of 18 months to 6 years. We have two lovely classrooms - one for 18 months to 3 years (maximum 12 children) and one for 3-6 year olds (maximum 20 children). The purpose of the Montessori Method:  •  is to offer young children the opportunity to learn through use of     the didactic materials, creativity and play  •  to build mutual trust between parents and educators, based on     a continuum of positive experiences for both parent and child  •  to enable the child to reach its full potential through encouragement,     sensitivity and mutual respect  •  to encourage learning through discovery and observation  •  to develop the whole child - physically, emotionally and intellectually  •  to provide a mix of skills, care, play and educational focus. There are six areas of learning:  •  “I am me, who are you?”      Spiritual development: wherein the child develops positive feelings      about themselves and others. "Knowing others is wisdom –      knowing the self is enlightenment." – Lao Tzu		•  “Expressive Me”       This involves the child's emotional development and enables them       to express their creativity through music, art and drama  •  “One, two three - maths is easy!”       This programme helps the child to gain an understanding of       mathematics and to gain an understanding of mathematical       concepts through concrete, hands-on experiences  •  “It's good to talk”       This programme encourages the development of speaking, listening       and writing skills.  •  “The World and Me”       This recognises that children are naturally curious about their       environment. Our focus is on Cosmic Education which gives       children "the key to all the sciences".  •  “Watch me move”       Provides activities to ensure that children gain control over their       bodies thus giving them confidence in movement. Physical play       enhances their growing confidence and boundless enthusiasm. The concept of physical readiness for formal education forms part of the core Montessori philosophy. We give all our children time, space and opportunity for sensory – motor experience in their early years.
School hours: 3-6 year olds: 08h30 - 13h00     •     Extra activities: Baking, Playball
